  • Welcome Message from the General Chair

On behalf of the 2nd International Conference on Japan-Bangladesh Research and Practice (JBRP) 2023 Program Committee, I would like to welcome you all to Nagoya, the largest city in the Chubu region and the major industrial hub in Japan, at the outset of the great holiday (Obon festival) season. The organizing committee has put together a program that is impressive with about 30 abstracts at 9 different sessions around four multidisciplinary domains (namely, 1. Business, Huminites, and Social Science, 2. Agricultural Science, 3. Medical, Pharmaceutical, and Public Health, 4. Natural Science, Engineering, and ICT) mostly from Bangladeshi (origin) researchers working in Japan. Apart from a welcome dinner, the committee also puts together an insightful keynote (Uncovering knowledge), a tutorial session (Machine learning for multidisciplinary research), a panel discussion (Collaboration between Bangladeshi researchers and practitioners for JICA`s Projects and Programs in Bangladesh), and the best presentation award during the two days conference (11-12th August 2023).

The 2nd International Conference on Japan-Bangladesh Research and Practice (JBRP) will be held at Nanzan University, Nagoya, Japan. JBRP is organized by the Network of Bangladesh Researchers in Japan (NBRJ). NBRJ aims to bring together Bangladeshi (origin) researchers working at different universities, research organizations, industries, and corporate sectors across Japan. The conference continues last year’s workshop in Tokyo, Japan, with a new name and look. JBRP will provide a platform for researchers across different scientific fields to share their achievements for creating multidisciplinary research collaboration opportunities and learning from each other.

We solicit presentations that fit into one or more of the following categories:
    1) Research achievement,
    2) Survey work related to Bangladesh and Japan,
    3) Collaborations between Bangladesh and Japan and/or
    4) Solutions to challenges in Bangladesh.
